Emma Lou Slate (Nannie)

(This is Tony writing) My sweet Nannie passed away tonight. Most of you know, she suffered from Alzheimers. She has had it for almost 8 years. Nannie held on during these last days. Bless her heart. She is in heaven now, reunited with Papa and so many others. There is so much to write about her, but as for now I just wanted to post this about her passing. I wish everyone could have known her like I do. She was a true servant of Christ. Everyone loved being around her. She was such a blast to be around!

She loved cats!

Two cheerleaders and an elephant!

We had big plans tonight to go to our neighborhood halloween party and then trick or treating with all the kiddos on our street... BUT, we had some scared little girls. Kennedy came around though, and she ended up having a blast. Tony took her around and she loaded up with candy. I stayed home with Kaitlyn (waaaay to scared to go outside) and the baby. They looked cute all dressed up though! :) When Kennedy got home she immediately ran to Kaitlyn and began sharing all her candy with her. It was so sweet!

Comparing

Here are the girls in the same elephant costume! Kennedy is first, then Kaitlyn, then Jillian (smiling all the time) They all look pretty similar!

Growing up

Jillian is growing up! She has begun to play in her exersacuer and loves it! She has also started something very important in the Slate household....Baby Signing Time! We start early with the signing! :) This week she rolled over for the first time (tummy to back) and was very proud of herself!
This week she also started eating cereal and is doing a great job with it! At her 4 month dr appt (a couple of weeks ago) she weighed in at 14 lbs 2 oz and 24 1/2 in. (Both 50th%). We have begun sleep training her (as of last night) and so far so good! She did a great job. She is our happy little monkey!

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we went to a pumpkin patch at Enchanted Gardens! The girls rode in a wagon and had fun eating yummy cookies, popcorn and juice! They played some games, watched a juggler and even got to pet a kitten! Jillian came along too, but she slept through most of it. I love this time of year!

Dressed for fall!

We were headed out the door to the pumpkin patch, but I had to snap some pictures of us all dressed in our Halloween colors! :)

4 months old!

Sweet Jillian is 4 months old! Here are some things about her!
She loves her sisters and laughs out loud at them all the time! She also loves Scooter and a few days ago gave a good belly laugh at her! It was adorable. She is NOT sleeping through the night any more....we will have to work on that one again! :) She is a very happy and content baby who loves her swing, play mat, bumbo chair and bouncer. She goes to the dr on Wed so we will see what her weight is and how long she is getting to be! She is quick to smile at you (I love that!) and really wants to know whats going on in the world around her!

This week

I just wanted to post a few pictures from this week. Jillian took her first stroller ride in her "big girl stroller". She is still a little small for it, but she loves looking around and doesn't want to miss a thing! She loves her sisters sooo much! She wants to watch them and be around them constantly. The twins love their little sister too! Kennedy especially has taken to her! She wants to hold her all the time. We aren't getting too much sleep these days....between the 3 girls, Tony and I are up quite a bit at night. I know this is a season and it will pass, but some days it sure is hard to get up in the morning! Sweet Jillian got her first cold this week...she may have gotten it from me because I had one too (although she had hers first!) She is getting better quickly though! I can't believe she is going to be 4 months soon! Time is flying by!

Pirate

This morning Tony and I were getting dressed for the day and he says to me, "Oh...I forgot it's spirit week at school!' I asked him what the theme was today and he said "pirates". I said, "Oh..we couldn't make that up if we tried without having SOMETHING that looked like a pirate." Oh well. (not to mention it was 6am and he had to leave in 15 minutes). I went upstairs to check on the baby and when I came down he was holding a pirate costume. He said, "I do have this...an old pirate costume from college". Who has a pirate costume just laying around in their closet????? Only my husband would. He tried it on and it fit great! Too funny!!! Can't wait to hear all the students reactions! :)
