Tony had a good friend getting married in Dripping Springs so we decided to make a little weekend trip out of it! Tony and I took off Friday so we could get the car all packed up. The girls went a half day to school. Around noon, we loaded up and headed off. Josie fell asleep pretty soon after we got going. Dar and Lee were coming also to meet us for the fun!
So tired
We rented an airbnb because putting 8 people in a hotel is just a little too crowded. :)
The wedding was that Friday evening, so soon after we arrived, Tony and I got ready and went to the wedding.
It was outside and so pretty!
Wedding selfie
While we were at the wedding, Dar and Lee took the kids to Dairy Queen to have dinner.
Yum!
And ice cream, of course!
Movie time!
Josie wanted Lee to put her to bed.
Reading books
The next morning, we had breakfast and relaxed around the house. We ordered pizza for lunch and then got ready to go to the capital in Austin.
Dar and Josie (and big bird and Katarina)
Sweet
Josie took a short nap on the way to the capital
Outside the parking garage we found bikes to rent.
We didn't rent them, but thought it would make a cute picture.
We tried so hard to get a selfie in front of the capital...it was quite comical.
Trying again!
Looking up from the inside!
Standing on the star! Family selfie!
We started with a tour that led us to the senate.
The tour was quite long and the girls were having a hard time following, so we decided to break away and go exploring ourselves.
We found the House of Rep. next.
Josie had fun "flying" up the many stairs we climbed.
Looking down from the 2nd level.
Looking down from the top!
After we finished exploring inside we went outside for a few more photo ops.
Josie thought Spiderman was pretty cool!
After the capital, we went to a nearby building that had fun things for kids to see!
Having "dinner" Josie was praying...so cute.
Dress up time!
Around 4:30 we headed home. We had a big taco dinner back at the house. After movies and popcorn (at the house), we headed to bed.
The next morning while we were packing up to leave, Jillian persuaded Uncle Lee to help her climb some nearby trees.
We had a great little weekend away! So fun to spend time with Dar and Lee too!
