Fun in the park
We met my family at a park in La Grange....about 1 1/2 hrs from here. Some of my family live in Austin so they came down and met us there! We had a great time. The girls loved the freedom! The played in the sand, did some swinging and just explored. We had a picnic too! It was great to see everyone! We are already talking about doing it again next month!

Sister love
I put in a home video (of them, of course!) for the girls to watch one morning (still wearing part of their pj's) and this is how they decided to watch it!

Kennedy's finger painting experience (Her approach: Get as much paint on herself as possible)
Kennedy LOVED finger painting! She loved feeling the paint in her hands...on her arms.....on her tummy.....and in her mouth!! (well, I don't know how much she enjoyed that part)

Kaitlyn's finger painting experience (Her approach: Get as little paint on herself as possible)
She had such a great time! She asked me to wipe off any paint that got on her hands or fingers! At the VERY end, she decided she would put her hand in the paint.

A full house
We were one of the lucky ones to have power so we housed a lot of people these past few days. My mom and dad, brother, sister in law, nephew and even our good friends Matt and Leigh and their little one hung out at our house. We had a great time with everyone! Now, everyone has power except for my parents. Hopefully they will soon.

Hurricane Ike update
Well, it's the morning and we made it! Apparently everyone has no electricity, but can you believe that we do???? Tony said that we have underground power lines so we are running on full power! Yipeee!! Last night was crazy! It sounded like the house was coming down and Tony and I got very little sleep. The girls on the other hand (who were in our closet in pack n plays) did great!!! Hardly a peep from them. We are thankful that we are all safe and that only our fence is down! Praise God!

Playdate with Kenzie
We had a great time with our friend Melissa's little girl, Kenzie, last Sat. She even brought them a late birthday present.....doll strollers! You would have thought the girls had died and gone to Heaven...they LOVED them! Kaitlyn loved hers so much she wouldn't let go of it. She would build blocks or do whatever with one hand, and hold on to the stroller with the other one! We had a great time playing, swimming (not for too long though....they wanted to get back to the strollers!) and eating pizza!!

party
My mom's birthday was a couple of weeks ago, but it was the same week my dad was in the hospital so we couldn't celebrate. We had a party for her today at our house! We got her a new sewing machine! We had a great time and we loved holding cousin Cooper!

Update on us!
Wow! I have been such a bad blogger!! I'll give you a quick update! We are back at school!! The kids came yesterday for the first day! The summer is gone. It was actually nice to be back....talk to friends and have a routine again. I like routine. My schedule is great....most days I go in about 11:30 and I drop the girls off at my parents house. My dad is doing great by the way.....he says he feels wonderful. He just can't lift anything more than 10 lbs per doctors orders. So, no picking up the girls.
Tony is teaching levels 1-5 ASL and yearbook. He really loves his kids at school and invests a lot of time with them!
Kennedy and Kaitlyn are growing and changing every day. They are doing great in their toddler beds and keep us laughing all the time!
Just wanted to give you a quick update. I'll try to get some pics on here soon!

Update on dad
Thanks for praying! My dad was moved out of ICU around 8pm tonight into a regular room and he is doing well. He had a 100% blockage in one main artery which caused the heart attack. They put a stint in as well as a temp. pace maker. He has another main artery that is 50-60% blocked and a smaller one that is 70% blocked. They will be treating him with medication and watching him closely. He is in good spirits and he is feeling a lot better. This attack shocked us all, as my dad is a fitness/health nut and just had a physical 2 weeks ago! (which showed no problems!) Thanks again for your prayers!

Prayers for my dad
Please pray for my dad. He had a heart attack this morning and was taken to the ER. He had a stint put in and a pacemaker. He is in ICU right now and stable. He will be moved to a regular room tomorrow and will probably stay until Friday. Thanks! Lindsay
