More wedding pictures

Some of the professional pictures from the wedding are up and I wanted to post some on here for memories sake. :)  They got some cute ones of the kids.

 I love this one!!!!

 These girls love Aunt Dar!

Not so great of me, but cute of Jillian

Tony read scripture during the ceremony

Right before the twins walked down the aisle, Kennedy got really nervous and decided to walk on her tip toes (like a ballerina) all the way down. She tried talking Kaitlyn into it, (notice her talking in the picture) but Kaitlyn never did it. (Thank goodness!) It was cute though.

6th birthday party

This year, Kennedy and Kaitlyn wanted a Lalaloopsy party! Lalaloopsys are dolls that look homemade.....button eyes etc.  They each have their own name, birthday and personality. They have recently gotten popular, so there isn't much yet that you can buy in the way of party goods. We had to improvise, but we had fun.

 Party girls!  (Kennedy, Kaitlyn)
We did find some Lalaloopsy shirts! Couldn't believe our luck!

 We made "button" plates
(When I say "we",  I'm referring to my mom, sister-in law and myself :)

Getting ready for the party! Aunt Dar and Uncle Lee came down too! What a fun surprise!

We made colored/flavored popcorn. Pictured above is raspberry, cherry and orange. We also made lime and grape. Since Lalaloopsy dolls are bright colors, we tried to match that with bright and cheery food.  The popcorn turned out cute, but was A LOT of work.

This was one of the items in the kids goody bags...little snack butterflies! :) We painted the clothes pins green and pink and glued wiggly eyes and pipe cleaners.

We also made chocolate dipped pretzels (rolled in sprinkles) and lots of cake pops!

When the girls arrived, they got started on their first craft! They decorated their own goody bag by gluing a Lalaloopsy face on it and adding buttons and jewels. The second craft they did was making necklaces!  Each girl got a baggie filled with beads, string and a Lalaloopsy charm.  They had fun making that! (Thanks to Aunt Jenn for finding the cute pencil toppers that we converted to charms)

Look closely and you can see Jillian's necklace. She was so proud.

We then played a version of pin the tail on the donkey. We just used a Lalaloopsy face and bows instead! (Thanks to my wonderful hubby for drawing the cute face!)
Here is the finished product! :)

Next came pizza!!!  Yum!!

Stopping for a quick pic with Kennedy

 Present time!!
It's quite a whirlwind with 2 kids opening presents at the same time.

Here are some of the cake pops. I should have taken a picture before they were half gone, but you get the picture. :)  They were tricky to make, but a big thank you to my mom and Jenn for helping!!

 Singing Happy Birthday to Kennedy!

 Singing to Kaitlyn

Cake pop and ice cream time!

The girls had a great party and I think this one will go down in the Slate history books as the "most work for a birthday party." My mom and Jenn deserve a big thank you for spending the whole day before the party cooking and getting everything ready with me! But, the most important thing was that they girls had a blast and had a memorable 6th birthday!

Happy July 4th

For the 4th, we were invited to a friend's house for a backyard cook-out and fun for the kids! There was a total of 4 families there and 3 of them had twins!
The kids played in the sandbox, slip n slide and swing set and we all ate some yummy hamburgers!!

 The sand box was popular!!
Jillian, another Jillian, McKenna and Eden

Leigh made a beautiful fruit tray

Most of the kids...missing 4 of the smallest ones.

This was our attempt of a group pic. (minus the baby)

My three in their 4th of July attire

As it got later, we all grabbed our chairs and walked to a nearby fireworks show. The kids had such fun running around and just being together. It was quite late when we got home and the kids didn't sleep all too well that night due to all the popping of fireworks....but I think it was worth it. :)
Happy 4th of July!!
