Easter 2013

On Sunday the girls each got a basket full of goodies...I really tried not to do much candy.....just more practical things.  (Drawing supplies, flip flops, sunglasses,  etc) Of course..there were also some non-practical things too! :)

They woke up ready to dive into those baskets! :)

Once breakfast was over, the girls couldn't wait to get their pretty Easter dresses on!

After church, we had Easter lunch at home and we invited 2 deaf friends over to join us.
They both helped us hide all the eggs (filled!) for the girls

 Cuties!

Garland and De'Anthony with the girls

Each girl had a separate egg color...green for Jillian, pink for Kennedy and purple for Kaitlyn....each to match their baskets and to make sure everything was fair. Fair is a big deal for these three!

 This is fun!

For dinner we made Resurrection Rolls to go with our "breakfast for dinner". We put Jesus (marshmallow) in the tomb (crescent roll)  and put oils on His body (cinnamon, sugar and butter). Then we wrapped it all up and cooked it. When it's done the marshmallow is gone (Jesus has risen!)
Great object lesson for little ones.  Plus..they are quite tasty!

We are so thankful for the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross. He is Risen!!! Praise God!
Happy Easter to all!

Birthday celebration and more Easter fun

On Saturday, we all went to Cafe Adobe to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday! The girls wanted to wear spring dresses and luckily, the weather was pretty warm.  I figured I would try to get some cute pictures before we left.

The sun was bothering them in a lot of the pictures, but they still turned out cute.

This one was their idea! :)

 All the girls

Once we got to the restaurant, we got Tony to take a picture of the group. Thanks honey!

 Cooper and Kaitlyn

After our yummy meal, they embarrassed my dad by singing and putting a hat on him...but hey...it's a big birthday!

We tried for a family picture at the restaurant, but the sun was so bright again....

So, we tried at my parent's house...much better.....
We went back to their house for birthday dessert and Easter fun.

 One more! :)

After we opened the Easter goodies we put out lots of eggs (empty) and let the kids hunt them.

We hung out and visited for a while and later that evening Tony and I had a rare date night! Love our date nights!

Egg hunt at school

My girls have had another fun-filled week. Wow....it sure is fun being 3 and 6 years old!
I'll start with just a few random pictures...

Just snapped a quick picture of my 3 before the egg hunt last weekend.

Kennedy's teacher, Mrs. Tijerina, sent this picture to all the parents. They read  "Bunny Cakes" (a Max and Ruby book) in class and they made 2 cakes! One was Ruby's angel surprise cake with raspberry frosting and the other was Max's earthworm cake. They got to sample both! Looks like fun!

The other day I took Jillian to Walmart to let her try out bikes....she can easily ride the 16 inch one. Right now she has a 10 inch.  I may be seeing a bike in her near future (birthday is coming up!)

We celebrated my dad's 70th birthday!!  Happy birthday dad! So happy we got such a cute picture with all his grand kids! Love it! We are having a big celebration on Saturday with family coming in and everything!

Thursday, Kennedy and Kaitlyn had an Easter Egg hunt at their school. I was so happy that I was able to go because my school had a half day.

Kennedy's class came out first....she was happy to see me there. :)

Next came Kaitlyn's class.  I could tell she was excited about the egg hunt!
 Kindergarten is so fun!

On your mark...get set.....
 GO!!! (Kaitlyn)

 Kennedy hunting her eggs

It was sooo hard to find them both in the crowd! There are 8 kindergarten classes with about 21 in each class! That is A LOT of kids. I kept my eye on Kennedy for a while, but I totally lost Kaitlyn. :(
We finally found her!

After they each got 12 eggs, all the kids were allowed to open their eggs and eat some candy! (Kennedy)

I got to take them home just a little early and it was so nice being with them for this little event. I'm excited that next year they will be with me at my school and I won't miss anything! :)

There is one more change about next year!  Instead of being part time and teaching music, I will be going full time and teaching Kindergarten! I'm thrilled!! I have so many ideas rolling around in my head. I can't wait to meet my little class next year!

More fun this weekend coming up!
