Christmas Eve 09

Eating a yummy breakfast at Grandma and Pa's house! More of my family came down from Austin and we had a great time eating, opening gifts and just being together!

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!!

PaPa and YaYa come visit!

PaPa and YaYa (Tony's family) came down from Springtown this weekend and brought Shaylee, the girl's cousin. They had a blast!! They opened Christmas presents and loved it! They are at a great age for understanding what Christmas is all about. The twins played with Shaylee (6) non-stop and we all had a wonderful time!

It was tough work getting all 3 to look at the camera, but we came out with a couple of cute pics!

6 months old

My precious baby is 6 months old. Here are some fun things about Jillian at this age.

*Goes to bed at 6:30pm every night. (I nurse her to sleep....love it!)

* wakes in the morning between 5-6:30 am

* If she wakes early (5am) I nurse her and she goes right back to sleep usually for another 2-3 hours.

*The most content/happy baby ever! What a joy!

*smiles easily and all the time

*giggles ...especially when you tickle her under her chin

* still nursing every 3 hours, but can extend 30 minutes or so if we need her to with no problem

* eating baby food: bananas, applesauce, pears, sweet potatoes, squash and carrots .

*Does NOT like rice cereal of any kind or peas! :)

* likes to sleep on her side (left side). I put her down to sleep on her back and she immediately rolls over to her side.

* naps are getting longer and more consistent. She usually takes two 1 1/2 hour naps and a 3rd shorter cat nap.

*I used to rock her until she was drowsy for naps, but now she just wants to be put down. So, I rock and sing her one song then put her down. She usually goes right to sleep.

*loves her paci.

* loves books ...especially soft plastic (waterproof) books

* loves putting things in her mouth....even her toes!

*LOVES her jumperoo and johnny jump up! She jumps and jumps and just squeals!

* has found her voice and loves to hear herself!

* She is sitting up very well and loves to play with her toys this way. She doesn't usually fall over at all (unless she is getting sleepy)

*still enjoys her exersaucer and baby signing time dvd.

We love our Jillian and we are so thankful God gave us this precious little girl!

Snow!

Kennedy and Kaitlyn LOVED the snow today! It was beautiful and just amazing to see! School got out early today and when Tony came home the twins went outside with him and played! They built a snowman (woman, really) and dressed her all up! :) They came in freezing cold, but we warmed them up with some yummy hot chocolate! What a day to remember!

Fun visit

Tony's aunt, uncle and cousin came down from Springtown, TX this past weekend! We had such a great time and they really spoiled the girls! They played with them non-stop, painted toenails, ate at McDonalds and even took them to the store to get toys and candy! We had some happy little girls! :) They also gave us a much needed night out too and we went to see the movie Blind Side. It was awesome!We love them so much and were thankful they made the drive down here to spend time with us!

Mommy's helper

Jillian is such a mommy's girl! She can be so happy with Tony or my parents or even playing with her toys....but as soon as she spots me....the tears start coming. So...here she is helping me make muffins one morning and helping me with the mountains of laundry that seem to multiply every day! Such a little helper! :)

Thanksgiving #2

Yesterday we made a little trip to visit my PawPaw in Port Arthur (Jillian's first road trip!) for another yummy thanksgiving meal! Good times!!

Thanksgiving #1

We had an early Thanksgiving with my family from Austin. We had a great time and great food! The twins loved playing with their cousins Jarrett and Cooper and Jillian enjoyed her first Thanksgiving!

Emma Lou Slate (Nannie)

(This is Tony writing) My sweet Nannie passed away tonight. Most of you know, she suffered from Alzheimers. She has had it for almost 8 years. Nannie held on during these last days. Bless her heart. She is in heaven now, reunited with Papa and so many others. There is so much to write about her, but as for now I just wanted to post this about her passing. I wish everyone could have known her like I do. She was a true servant of Christ. Everyone loved being around her. She was such a blast to be around!

5 months

Jillian is 5 months old today! Here are some things she is doing now!
*sleeps through the night (6:30pm-6:00 or 6:30 am) Yipee!!!
*smiles all the time
*has the sweetest laugh!
*has more and more RED hair coming in!
*Is eating baby food (bananas and applesauce)
*learning to sit up by herself (she sat up long enough today for me to get 3 pictures in a row )
*loves playing in her exersaucer (she always looks so busy)
* adores her sisters and is fascinated with the dog!
*loves her paci and is practicing taking it in and out ALL the time.

She is a sweetheart and time is flying by!
