Decorating the tree

The twins have been dying to put up the Christmas decorations! We usually put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving, but this year we put it up the day before Thanksgiving. We had some very eager little girls!

My two little elves! (Kennedy, Kaitlyn)

 Kaitlyn, my little detailed organizer

Kennedy, my creative little diva :)
The tinsel was a big hit!

Kaitlyn took the name tree "skirt" literally!

Once the lights were lit and the tinsel was on, it was time for the decorations. I don't think these girls could have had any more fun. They put up every single ornament by themselves! (Kaitlyn)

Kennedy finding just the right spot for her ornament.

They rearranged the ornaments over and over. (And still do every day!)

Jilly woke up from her nap and got in on the fun too!

She helped by dumping out all the ornaments! :)

Daddy and Jillian posing by the completed Christmas tree!!  (Notice, the top of the tree has no ornaments! Their little arms could only reach so far! ha!)
The girls have been asking me every day "How much longer until it's Christmas?"  It's fun to see their anticipation! They are sooooo excited!  It's going to be a fun month!

Thanksgiving Day 2010

We were so excited to have the whole week off from school, but, boy, did the week start differently than expected. This past Sunday night, Tony and I got either food poisoning or a stomach bug and it wiped us out! Thanks to Grandma and Pa for coming to the rescue. They came and got the kids for us Monday morning (we couldn't even get out of bed!). We also didn't want to expose them if we did have a stomach bug. We  recovered and slowly got our appetite back....just in time for Thanksgiving day! :)
We went to my parent's house and had a yummy meal!  We spent a lot of time outside, letting the kids run around.  I didn't get any pictures of our wonderful lunch, but I did snap some photos of the people I am thankful for!

Our sweet family

My brother, sister-in-law and nephew, Cooper!

 My Jilly Bean (17 months)

 My wonderful husband!

My parents!  (This was quite a task trying to get two 4 year olds, a 2 1/2 year old and a 17 month old to pose for a picture!)

And my two twinkies!
(Pa raked A  LOT of leaves for all the kids to jump in!)

We are also very thankful for all of Tony's family that lives near Ft. Worth! We missed them today, but we will be seeing them at Christmas!  Can't wait!

Playing in the leaves!

Get ready......

 Get Set.....

 Gooooooo!!!!

Weeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
(That was fun Uncle Chris!!   Do it again!)

Halloween 2010

The evening before the 31st we got together with our neighbors for some good food and good fun! Here are some of the kiddos eating dinner. (Tanner, Meagan, Madi, Kennedy, Kaitlyn)

Yummy frito pie! (Kennedy, Kaitlyn, Audrey)

All the girls on the cul-de-sac!! (minus Jillian...she didn't want to pose for the picture!)

Kaitlyn wanted to be a ballerina.

Kennedy wanted to be Sleeping Beauty.

Jillian was a pumpkin! She wouldn't keep her little hat on that went with it...and I could never catch her smiling either..but she looked so cute! (This was the same costume the twins wore when they were this age)

And I also dressed her up in the cow costume our neighbors gave us! I just couldn't resist.

There was no trick or treating this year for the girls. The twins are still terribly scared of masks and scary costumes so they didn't even want to leave the house. That was ok with us! I didn't buy new costumes (knowing that they wouldn't be used) and they were completely content choosing from the many dress up clothes they already had. We did have a couple of visitors who came over halloween night to see the girls and they gave them some candy. They loved that. We had a special night inside on Halloween night and the girls had a fun time just hanging out with good ol' mom and dad! :)

Pumpkin carving

Is she (Kennedy) really going to reach in there and get dirty? Yeah right! She was just pretending for the picture! Those girls wouldn't touch the "insides".

But they loved trying to carve the pumpkin themselves! (They had toddler knives and it did nothing to the pumpkin!)

Daddy and his girls.

All done!

Salting the pumpkin seeds. They loved this part.

Watching the seeds in the oven. They turned out yummy! :)

Oh, and this was their version of the pumpkin, by the way. A princess pumpkin, of course!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch today and let the girls get some pumpkins! Last week Grandma and Pa took them to one near their house and they had a blast there too!

Kaitlyn

Kennedy

Jillian loved the little pumpkins.

This was the best I could get of all three...they really didn't want to pose for me.

The twins loved this blow-up scarecrow!

Jillian loved all the freedom she got walking around in the enclosed pumpkin patch!

Back at home....ready to paint!! (Kaitlyn)

My little artists. We had a fun day all around! :)

Galveston

This past weekend we went to Galveston and met Tony's family down there for a little mini vacation! We got there Friday night and had a few hours to kill before they arrived (they had a much longer drive) so we headed to the beach to check it out! (We stayed at Tony's co-worker's beach house!)

The twins were so excited to see the sand and water! (Scooter too!)

I think this is the sweetest picture of Daddy and Jillian.

Kennedy loving the mud! :)

Kaitlyn

Tony showing the twins the hermit crabs. At first they weren't too sure about them, but quickly warmed up to them.

They got a little wet and muddy so we came back inside and changed clothes just in time for Shaylee, Paw Paw, Ya Ya, Dar and Lee to arrive! Once Shaylee got there, Kennedy and Kaitlyn were in heaven!! They loooove their cousin!

Of course, they all had to play dress up! Here is Kennedy showing off her outfit. They all stayed up later than usual because they were having so much fun!

Good Morning!! Saturday morning came early and these girls were ready for the beach!!

Jillian eating her waffles for breakfast.

My honey and me

Ya Ya got bucket hats for all the girls to decorate. Shaylee decorating her hat.

Kaitlyn's hat

Kennedy working on hers.

All dressed and ready to go! Cute matching cover ups for all the girls! (Thanks Ya Ya) Leave it to a 4 year old to stick out her tongue for the picture. :)

The only way to get a picture of ALL the kids was for me to hold Jillian in the picture. (Still working on that separation anxiety) Kaitlyn cracks me up with her hat over her eyes and holding ALL the beach toys. She is always prepared, that girl!

Jillian left her hat on for about 2 seconds...so much for trying to protect her from the sun.

What a happy girl!! (Kennedy)

Loving the water!

Lee and Dar

Group picture! (minus Lee and Dar)

This is definitely a mommy's girl. (But I love it!)

These three stayed out for hours!

This was Jillian's reaction to the beach. She was not a fan of the water at all!

She made us laugh because she would just take off walking back to the beach house all by herself. She was determined to get away from the water.

She did find a spot she liked with soft sand far away from the water. She happily played here for a while.

That evening (after baths!) we all sat on the deck and got to watch a wedding that was taking place on the beach. They loved the bride's dress!

And got to do more crafts. (Thanks Ya Ya)

Family photo!

Kennedy, Shaylee, Kaitlyn

We love Aunt Dar!

My girls!

We had such a wonderful time and we all wished we could have stayed longer. I'm so thankful that Tony's co-worker let us use his awesome beach house and we got to visit with Tony's family. We drove back home Sunday afternoon and all three girls fell asleep in the van. They were all tuckered out! It was hard to come back to reality! :) Hopefully we can do that again one day! We made some great memories.
