First Day of school 2020

The first day of school was a success!! The kids were so excited!
Josie- PK
Kennedy-8th
Kaitlyn-8th
Jillian-5th (Middle school!)
ALL at FBCA this year!!! Woo hoo!!
Of course...masks are required. :(
One last picture before they all go their separate ways. Love them so!
Jillian finally got her locker wallpaper up! Too cute!
Teaching is very different this year. Half the time I'm wearing this shield and the other half of the time a mask (depending on what I'm doing and where I am). I'm also zooming during the day as well as teaching in class. Can we say, multi-task????
Dividers for our tables
A peek into Josie's class!
I love that she is right across the hall!
Kaitlyn, Payton and Kennedy in ASL with Tony!!
(They wear masks all day, but in ASL they were face shields)
Friday t-shirt day! I just had to get a pic of the cuteness!
Jillian is lucky this year and has PE first period...so she gets to come to school in her PE uniform!!
She loves PE!
Josie's picture on the wall. Love.
It was a tiring 3 days, but overall everything went well. Now...we are waiting to see whats going to happen with the TWO hurricanes coming our way at the same time. Good grief!

Last days of summer/Meet the teacher

We had 2 weeks of inservice due to the overwhelming nature of school this year. We are in person AND distance learning at the same time!! The kids have been staying with Grandma and Pa the past 2 weeks and having a blast! They went to the park every morning!
Lots of coloring and cooking too!
And taste testing
Josie's "Game face"
We had "Meet the Teacher". Josie has Ms. Perry this year for PK.
Entering her classroom
Her seat!
It's going to be a fun year!
Meanwhile, the other 3 girls were upstairs getting their middle school schedules and decorating their lockers.
My 8th graders
Jillian was excited to decorate her locker!
All done! (Except she decided she needed wallpaper for her locker too so that will be added.)
School looks SO different this year. We have to get lessons ready for distance learners and also for our in class kids. We have been practicing zooming with each other to get used to our headset and all the things that go along with teaching virtually.
We also celebrated mom's 74th birthday with some yummy BBQ! One last party before school starts on Wednesday.  Happy Birthday, mom!

July highlights and 4th grade graduation

July has come and gone. It was pretty uneventful, but one important even was Jillian's 4th grade graduation! It took place at the football stadium at 9am. It was so.hot. We are proud of her and her hard work in elementary school. Here are the highlights of July.
Playing games in our pj's
 Selfies
 Graduation day!
  Social distance seating
We were thankful for our umbrellas and sunglasses....the heat was pretty brutal.
Standing up for participating in PSIA competition (4 events)
Jillian recited her poem! She did a great job!
Mrs. Martin gave her the character trait of "thankfulness".
 Happy Graduation!
Dance continues and Jilly couldn't be happier when she is there.
This little one loves dance as well. She works so hard and gets so excited to go!
Kennedy and Tony had some "art bonding" time and they each drew cute pigs.
Can you guess who's is who's?
(Tony's is the yellow one...Kennedy's is the blue one)

August is here now! School (covid-19 style) is around the corner.
