So long, old friend

Kennedy and Kaitlyn have had one love in their 3 years of life....their paci. They LOVE their pacifier! We strictly limited the use of the paci to nap time and bed time...that is, until little Jillian arrived. It seemed that they "needed" their paci for snuggle time, movie time...whatever time they could think of. We were getting to the point where the paci NEEDED to GO! We kept telling them when they turned 3 they wouldn't have it anymore. (At least, that was the plan). Well, it seemed they took matters into their own hands. Upstairs, we have a very large sectional couch . It has 2 recliners in it and a pull out sleeper sofa. Needless to say, there are MANY nooks and crannies. Thinking it was a game, the girls stuffed their pacis in the couch. When I went to look for them, they told me where they had put them. We looked everywhere for them, but they were no where to be found. They were lost in the couch! (The couch is way too big and heavy to move) So, last night they went to sleep without their pacis for the first time. Overall they did a great job...it took them a little longer to fall asleep, but they slept fine all night. Today for naps was pretty hard though...they could not unwind and they played and played. Finally, they fell asleep (after a stern talking). I couldn't be happier with how this played out! The pacis are gone and the girls know that THEY lost them! I'm so happy that this chapter in their little life is over. Now, if we could just get potty training down..... :)
